Lake Wallenpaupack: Located in Northeast Pennsylvania, it is the largest lake in the Poconos, second largest lake entirely in the state. It compromises 52 miles of shoreline, with a length of over 13 miles and a maximum depth of 60 feet, and has a surface area in excess of 5,700 acres. This lake is best known as one of the major recreational destinations in the Pocono Mountains. The lake provides swimming, boating, jet skiing, paddle boarding, water tubing, water skiing, scuba diving and fishing access in the summer, as well as snowmobiling, ice skating and ice fishing in the winter.
Lake is home to 26 fish species including smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, rock bass, bluegill, striped bass, walleye, muskellunge, bullhead, shiner, black crappie, sunfish, common carp, northern pike, pickerel, rainbow trout, brown trout, catfish, and yellow perch as well as some others. There are Four Islands on the lake, all open to the public; Burns Island, Cairns Island, Epply Island and Kipp Island. Dock your boat and enjoy provided bbq grill, picnicking, birding and hiking on these islands with the exception of Burns. American Bald Eagles are known to nest on Kipp Island.
