Wally Lake Fest(Wallypalooza)

During the last weekend of August, Lake Wallenpaupack is celebrated annually during this action-packed weekend event. Wally lake fest is a family-friendly, end-of-summer celebration both on water and on land. Float on the waves, watch loads of live music performances on lake and land, snack on delicious food and drinks, visit boat shows, browse vendor fairs and markets and much more. Wally Fest packs the best of Pocono Mountains vacation into three days of food, music, watersports, shopping, tours and activities for all ages.

Public Beach

Palmyra Township Public Beach is located on the northeast section of the lake and is home to numerous picnic spaces and pretty waterfront views, and it’s the perfect family-friendly destination. Beachgoers can swim in this lake’s tranquil waters from the park’s access points while enjoying the sun on its sandy shores.Lifeguards on duty, snack bar, volleyball, picnic tables, charcoal grills, and bathroom/changing facilities.

Hiking

There are numerous hiking trails that surround Lake Wallenpaupack, the largest being Lacawac Sanctuary. This is a 550 acre nature and environmental education center located on the southwest shore of Lake Wallenpaupack offering over nine miles of trails for hiking from easy to difficult. Enjoy a rich outdoor hiking experience and exposure to a blend of diverse habitats. At Lacawac Sanctuary can you take a walk, hike with your dog, or enjoy a free nature-based educational program. Whether you want to study the wildlife on the beautiful property or take a backpack and head off on an excursion, Lacawac offers a single starting point with a lot of great endings — and smiles all around!

Another popular trail is Shuman Point Trail which occupies a 250 acre, three mile shoreline trail located on the northwest shore of Lake Wallenpaupack. Some of the other trails include Wallenpaupack Creek Trail, Ledgedale Natural Area, and Soarin Eagle Rails.

Skiing/Snowboard/Tubing

Ski Big Bear Mountain- located about 20 miles northeast from the property, Ski Big Bear is a skiing, snowboarding and tubing resort located in Lackawaxen. It offers 18 trails, 7 lifts and 650ft of vertical and provides a great family winter recreation.

Golf Course at Paupack Hills

Less than a 10 minute drive from the property, is a historic town full of activity, antiques, events, culture, shopping, restaurants, arts, markets and fun with an abundance of charm.

Eat/Drink

Whether you want to pull up to one of the restaurants on the water by boat or looking for a formal meal, there is no shortage of restaurants/bars. Some of the recommended nearby restaurants include The Dock, The Boat House, The Ridge, Gresham’s Chop House, Glass, and Ringside Fire Grill, just to name a few. For those interested in locally made beverages, I highly recommend Wallenpaupack Brewing Company and Three Hammers Winery
